Membership

	Do I need to provide references to become a member?
	Not at all! AOSpine provides open membership for anyone interested in spine care. Naturally we have rules like all organizations—if you agree to them and pay your subscription, you are welcome to join our community.

	How do I pay?
	Payment can be made by credit card via the AOSpine website with VISA, MASTERCARD and AMEX. All transactions are processed via a dedicated provider, certified by Thawte Secure Server Identification, using SSL encryption to ensure sensitive data and transactions are protected. Other payment options are available on request.

	I’m already an AOSpine associate—how do I pay?


	What are member levels and how can I progress?
	AOSpine follows a simple, transparent system of member progression: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Every position or activity within AOSpine is assigned a defined points value. You earn your points by contributing to AOSpine—your community. For example: Supply an interactive case study Mentor a colleague on a forum Act as faculty at an AOSpine course Provide an article for one of our journals Subscribing members who get involved in the AOSpine community are entitled to further privileges, rewards, and opportunities, eg, preferential discounts on a wide range of AOSpine products and services and exclusive offers.

	What is eMEMBERSHIP?
	Membership packages are available as Membership or eMembership. The Membership option includes printed copies of AOSpine journals. With the eMembership package, the benefits are the same, with the exception of the journals, which are available to you in electronic format only, and can be downloaded from the AOSpine website.

	Where does my money go?
	Your subscriptions go directly back into your benefits. As our membership grows, we will be able to leverage funds into delivering increased and more varied benefits for you.

	What are video webcasts?
	A webcast is a video broadcast conducted over the Internet as a streaming media presentation. AOSpine has compiled a great deal of filmed material from courses, which it is offering to its members in the form of webcasts: lectures, practicals, live surgeries.

	What are webcast lectures?
	A webcast lecture is a video broadcast including powerpoint slides conducted over the Internet as a streaming media presentation. AOSpine has compiled a library of course lectures, which it is offering to its members.

	What is OVID?
	OVID is a database of online journals. AOSpine has put together a package of currently six online journals from the spine, neurosurgery, and orthopedics fields for its members. This great tool offers full-text articles, archives, and practical search functions.

	What membership packages are available?
	We offer three different packages—Basic, Classic and Pro, each offering a selection of benefits to suit individual needs. All packages are also available as eMembership.

	Do you store my credit card data?
	No! When you make a payment on the AOSpine website you are transferred to a secure site (SSL) run by our payment service provide (datatrans.ch). We do NOT store or handle ANY credit card related data on our website.

	I live in a country where there is no AOSpine chapter—what can I do?
	AOSpine is always ready to expand the AOSpine community. If you have a genuine interest to get involved in AOSpine and to create a national organization where there is none, then we ask you to email us.
